Overview

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor who can craft compelling and shareable video content for our brand. This role is crucial in shaping Project storytelling across various social media platforms, with a focus on creating impactful, community-driven, and unorthodox content that stands out.

You will work closely with the production team to translate our brand’s vision into visually engaging video content that will spark conversation and intrigue in our audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and assemble recorded footage into a finished project that aligns with the brand’s creative vision and resonates with our target audience.
  • Work with skits, food reviews, behind-the-scenes content, and other unorthodox video ideas to ensure content is eye-catching and engaging.
  • Understand and apply the “unorthodox but halal” storytelling style to create buzzworthy, shareable content.
  • Collaborate with the production team and stakeholders to understand their vision and produce videos that reflect Project’s values.
  • Trim footage segments, apply effects, and create a smooth flow of sequences for each video project.
  • Input dialogues, graphics, and effects to elevate the storytelling.
  • Develop both rough and polished final cuts suitable for social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Continuously discover and implement new editing techniques, trends, and best practices to ensure content is fresh and current.
  • Manage and organize raw footage, ensuring all assets are accessible for future use.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to ideate new, creative content that can push our brand forward and intrigue audiences.

Requirements and Skills

  • Experience: 2-3 years of proven experience as a Video Editor, with an impressive portfolio showcasing creative, engaging edits. Experience with social media content (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube) is highly preferred.
  • Education: BS degree/Diploma/Certification in Film Studies, Cinematography, or a related field.
  • Editing Software: Proficiency in digital technology and editing software such as Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, and Final Cut.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of timing, rhythm, and storytelling. Familiarity with special effects, 3D, compositing, and adding motion graphics is a plus.
  • Creative Storytelling: Ability to bring both sight and sound together cohesively to craft an engaging story. Experience with creating unorthodox, bold content to drive social media engagement is preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure logical sequencing and a smooth, polished final product while working on tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Comfortable working with different stakeholders throughout the production process, from ideation to post-production, and open to feedback to refine content.
